Mary Scharmer is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in private practice in Seminole, Florida. As a former elementary school teacher and middle school counselor, Mary has dedicated her life to teaching, guiding, uplifting, and empowering others.
Originally from Madison, Wisconsin, Mary has a Bachelor’s Degree in education from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. While teaching in California, she completed a Master’s Degree in counseling from San Jose State University. Mary served as a middle school counselor for many years. She moved to Florida in 2002 to be close to family. Mary enjoys the beach and is grateful to live here in paradise.
Mary has been a Licensed Mental Health Counselor since 2008. She received her training in hypnotherapy through the prestigious American Society of Clinical Hypnosis and Florida Society of Clinical Hypnosis, and continues her study and training on an ongoing basis.
Mary is honored to be a hypnotherapist and feels that it is a privilege to witness so many wonderful outcomes and positive changes while working with her clients.
Mary first became interested in hypnosis as a child. She learned about how her grandfather, Dr. S. T. Donovan, used hypnosis in his dental practice with patients who could not be administered pain medications or numbing agents, or who were experiencing anxiety.
Mental Health Counseling and hypnotherapy work very well together. Mary finds that the addition of hypnosis into the counseling process greatly enhances and accelerates the healing process. Her clients report relief from anxiety, low self esteem, procrastination, insomnia, pain, and many other problems. Mary empowers clients to release negative thought patterns which have often plagued them since childhood. Other clients come in for increased athletic or academic performance. In general, Mary’s clients report greater peace, happiness, and ease in moving forward with their lives.
